Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to make one of your flags?
Our flags take approximately two weeks to complete from start to finish (available to ship within 2-3 weeks of date of order, depending on when your flag was purchased). Because I am a one-person operation and work full-time LE, my production time is limited to the weekends.
Do you do custom CNC work, or do you only do Blue Line Flags?
While I can do custom CNC work for a client, I prefer (at least for the time being) to limit my production to Blue Line Flags (and other variants) as offered in the products section of this site. If you have a need for custom CNC work such as a sign, etc., feel free to contact me and I can provide you a custom quote. If I don’t have anything going on, I just may be able to accommodate your needs!
Do you ship your products outside of the United States?
BlueLine Wood Flags ships its products to customers throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii to physical addresses only. We do not ship our products to P.O. Boxes and we do not ship to U.S. Territories or foreign countries.
Will you complete a design that does not conform to the U.S. Flag, such as a state flag or other flag type?
At this time, Blue Line Wood Flags does not offer any SKUs outside of those listed in the product section of this website. Check back with us often, as we plan to introduce new designs!
Do you let your customer’s know the progress of their flag’s production once they make a purchase?
Once a customer makes a purchase, an order confirmation email is sent with an order number. Once the order is complete and shipped, a shipping confirmation email is sent to the client.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
In most cases, if design work has not begun, you are eligible for a complete refund. Once we begin work on your flag, the amount of the refund you are eligible to receive is pro-rated on how much work we have invested into your project. Please find a complete summary of our refund policy here.
What about Copyright issues?
Blue Line Wood Flags will not reproduce any commercial image that is subject to copyright and then offer it for resale. In most cases, our clients are purchasing thin blue line flags (or other variants) for themselves or a family member, to display in their own homes, offices, etc. Police (and other public entity) graphic designs submitted to Blue Line Wood Flags are converted to a subdued color scheme and do not retain their original likeness. Additionally, Blue Line Wood Flags intentionally integrates subtle differences from the original work into the reproduction. Blue Line Wood Flags requires each client to acknowledge release from copyright infringement during the checkout process, before we begin any work. If you have any question as to whether you can transmit your department’s patch, badge or other image to us for reproduction, please contact your department administration or legal unit.
What types of materials do you use to make your flags?
Our flags start with red oak (reinforced with back bracing) to prevent warping due to fluctuating humidity levels. A variety of different materials are used to complete the finishing process, including water based stains, enamel paints, and spray lacquer for a finish coat. Our flags are not suitable for outside display and must be kept indoors.
